VI Carnival on St. Thomas celebrates 65 while commemorating territorial Centennial

vi-carnival-2017-posterThe Virgin Islands Carnival, a yearly celebration on St. Thomas, will present a bounty of beauty, music, cuisine and culture to the world from April 1-29, 2017. This year’s festivities will not only be marking the 65th year of the annual bacchanal, but will take place while the U.S. Virgin Islands mark the 100th year since the transfer of the islands from Danish rule to the United States of America.

The theme is “A Centennial Commemoration for our 65th Carnival Celebration!” says it all, and native islanders, family and friends who live away, as well as from neighboring islands, the continental United States, Denmark and the world will descend on the capital, Charlotte Amalie, to make mas in amazing splendor!

Pageantry, Calypso, family fun, and grand parades will mark the spectacular VI Carnival in an entire month’s worth of activity. Follow the fun at or on Facebook as VI Carnival.
